Kit Eugene Smiley, 50, of Angier, North Carolina, formerly of Yorktown, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2013. Kit was born on October 16, 1962, to Kenneth Eugene Smiley and Marilyn (Finley) Desper in Werzburg, Germany.
He was a graduate of Yorktown High School with the class of 1981. Kit was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was proud of the time that he served. He was a member of the Plainview Presbyterian Church in Angier, and was a born again Christian. He worked as manager for Wise Recycling in North Carolina. Kit enjoyed fishing in his spare time, loved NASCAR racing, and was a family man considered to be a wonderful best friend, father, son, and brother.
Survivors include his children, Travis Smiley of Plant City, FL, and Kasey Smiley of Angier, NC; companion, Karen Herring of Angier, NC; mother, Marilyn Desper of Yorktown; siblings, Rex Smiley (wife, Diana) of Yorktown, Misty Kimbrough (husband, Mark) of Muncie, and Ron Smiley (wife, Kristin) of St. Petersburg, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Smiley; and grandparents, Eugene and Ruby Finley, and John and Madeline Smiley.
Visitation for Kit will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Pastor Marty Ballard will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Harold Ray Greenwood, 88, of Terre Haute passed away on June 9, 2013 at 9:30 p.m. in his home. He was born May 4, 1925 in Jasonville, Indiana to Guy E. Greenwood and Madeline (Cowden) Greenwood-Wentz. He worked 20 years in construction for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157 and retired after 20 years at the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary as the Welding Instructor. Harold was a graduate of Jasonville High School and long time member of Lawton Street Christian Church in Jasonville, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife Catherine (McClanahan) Greenwood of 67 years; his daughters Rita McCuen of Ankeny, Iowa and Sue Smith of Terre Haute. Also surviving is grandson Travis McCuen and his wife Stephanie of Bondurant, Iowa; granddaughter Stephanie (McCuen) Gustafson and husband Ryan of Ankeny Iowa; grandson Brent Bones, his wife Melinda, and great granddaughter Karina of Pekin, Illinois; and granddaughter Lori (Smith) Kij, her husband Mike, and great grandson Dalton of Tucson, Arizona; and step grandson Mike
Smith, his wife Chris, and step great grandsons Grant and Evan of Seymour, Indiana; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday June 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Dr. Burial will be in Farmersburg West Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Bennie Lee Scott, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Bennie was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on June 10, 1931 to the late Gilbert and Gladys Lee (Scott) Scott. Bennie owned and operated Scott's Seamless Guttering, retiring in 1998. He previously worked for Sears, Wolflin Lumber Company and was a Warrick County school bus driver for 12 years. Bennie was a Korean War Army Veteran, a member of VFW Post #1114 and a member of The Happy Hookers Bass Club. He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter, riding horses, camping, woodworking and grilling.
Bennie is survived by:
Wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Schmitt) Scott of Evansville, IN; Daughters, Connie (Bob) Heilman of Evansville, IN and Mary (Pat) Freels of Elberfeld, IN; Sons, Benny (Karen) Scott of Evansville, IN and Greg (Lisa) Scott of Mt. Vernon, IN; Brother, Jerry (Donna) Scott of Evansville, IN; Grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Scott, Annie (Mike) Wilkinson, Megan (Jared) Davis, Casey Freels, Christopher (Allison) Heilman, Brody (Jessica) Scott and Breanne Scott; Great Grandchildren, Tyler Wilkinson and Presley Rose Heilman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bobby Gene Scott.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with Father Jason B. Gries officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until service time on Friday at Browning.

Jerry Lee Howard, 62, Lafayette, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013.
He was born March 18, 1951 to the late Jerry and Katherine Howard.
Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed playing computer games, and the loyal companionship with his dogs.
He was employed as a CNA at Regency Place, and had worked for various nursing homes throughout his career.
Jerry is survived by his partner David Trueblood, of Lafayette. Jerry and David would have celebrated their 31st anniversary this month.

Elsie Maxine McIntyre was born in Hendricks County, Indiana on December
1, 1918. She was the daughter of the
late Charles Roy and Sadie (Warren)
Faught.
She was reared and educated in Pittsboro and graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1937. She then moved to Lebanon after her marriage and
resided there since.
On August 9, 1941, in Lebanon,
Indiana, she was married to James
Henry McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre passed away
on June 17, 1996.
Maxine was a receptionist for Dr. Dillon and helped her husband at
McIntrye Sinclair Service Station.
She was a member of the Otterbein
United Methodist
Church in Lebanon
and the Order of Eastern Star of Lebanon.
A person devoted to her family, Maxine was a wonderful wife, mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved
her family and was proud of each of them.
Maxine was a giving individual and was always helping others.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June
21, 2013, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation is planned for Friday, June 21, 2013, from
12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Interment will follow at the Sparks
Cemetery, near Pittsboro in Hendricks County, Indiana.
